from the President
Dear HCEA Members,
As we are moving into an exciting season for the Healthcare Education Association, I want to take a moment to thank each of you for your continued dedication, engagement, and support of our organization. Together, we are building a stronger, more connected, interprofessional community that advances health education to improve outcomes for individuals and communities we serve.
We Want to Hear From You!
One of the highlights of this year is our HCEA Fireside Chat Sessions. These conversations are created to provide a welcoming space for members to connect, share experiences, exchange ideas, and learn from one another.
Are you enjoying the Fireside Chats? What topics have resonated most with you? What would you like to see in future sessions? Your feedback helps us shape meaningful programming that reflects the needs and interests of our membership.
Likewise, our HCEA Webinar Series continues to provide valuable educational opportunities for professionals across the healthcare landscape and related industries. As we plan future webinars, we encourage you to share your ideas. Are there specific topics, emerging trends, innovations, or challenges you would like us to explore in greater depth? We welcome your suggestions and look forward to developing programming that supports your professional growth.
Membership Fee Update
As we continue to expand and enhance member benefits, provide educational offerings, and strengthen our organizational infrastructure, the HCEA Board of Directors has approved a modest membership fee adjustment beginning January 2027.
Beginning January 1, 2027:
- Individual Membership will increase to $115.00 annually
- Student Membership will increase to $60.00 annually
- Group Discounts of 5 or more, within the same organization, upon request
This adjustment reflects our commitment to providing high-quality educational resources, networking opportunities, professional development programs, and member engagement opportunities throughout the year.
Exciting Conference News Ahead
Planning is already underway for our Fall 2027 HCEA Conference, and we are energized by the opportunities ahead. Our conference committee is working diligently to develop an engaging, innovative and diverse educational experience that brings together healthcare educators, administrators, clinicians, researchers, technology professionals, and community partners.
Conference details, including dates, location, and more, will be shared soon. Stay tuned for exciting updates!
Member Spotlight Continues
Our popular HCEA Member Spotlight series continues to showcase the outstanding professionals who contribute to the success of our association and the advancement of health education. We are proud to celebrate the accomplishments, leadership, and innovation of our members.

Introducing “HCEA Member Korner”
I am also excited to announce a new member-focused initiative, HCEA Member Korner, launching in October 2026.
Member Korner will provide a space where members are interviewed to share professional insights, success stories, innovative projects, lessons learned, and personal perspectives of their work. This initiative is designed to showcase our members and strengthen connections among our members while highlighting the diverse expertise that exists throughout our organization.
We hope this new feature becomes a place where members can learn from one another, celebrate accomplishments, and foster meaningful collaboration.
Our Vision for the Future
As President, I firmly believe that HCEA's future is bright because of the diversity of perspectives and expertise represented within our membership.
While we remain deeply committed to advancing excellence in health education, our vision extends beyond traditional boundaries. Achieving positive health outcomes requires collaboration across many disciplines. Healthcare education does not happen in isolation.
The work we do is strengthened by professionals in information technology, marketing, communications, operations, administration, research, patient advocacy, community engagement, and countless other non-clinical roles. These professionals are essential partners in supporting patients, families, healthcare organizations, and the communities we serve.
Without these dedicated individuals working behind the scenes and alongside us, our ability to educate, inform, and improve health outcomes would be significantly diminished.
As HCEA continues to grow, we remain committed to being an inclusive organization that welcomes all professionals whose work contributes to educating and informing our community to achieve better health outcomes. By embracing diverse perspectives and fostering collaboration across disciplines, we will continue to expand our impact and strengthen our profession.
