2025 National Benchmarking Survey for Patient Educators and Programs

The Health Care Education Association (HCEA) is pleased to share the results of its 2025 National Benchmarking Survey for Patient Educators and Programs Survey. This comprehensive survey is designed to help you advocate for your needs as the field of patient education changes and grows.

More than 100 respondents from across the U.S. and Canada completed the 2023 survey, which gathered critical information about:

• Institution overview
• Program structures and employee information
• Management of custom education
• Health education vendor systems and learning spaces
• Additional program responsibilities
• Projects and future priorities for HCEA

Interested in helping with the next workforce survey? Consider joining the Professional Resources Working Group!

This is an umbrella working group for all HCEA projects that create professional resources. The group meets every other month (Jan, Mar, May, July, Sept, Nov), and the individual project groups may meet more often depending on what is needed to best accomplish project goals on schedule.
