Partners in Pediatric Education (PIPE) is a national forum comprised of dedicated interdisciplinary pediatric educators who work cooperatively to help improve healthcare education in the field of pediatrics.

To that end, we have partnered with the Health Care Education Association (HCEA) in order to benefit from the entire spectrum of healthcare education in both the adult and pediatric sector.  HCEA's mission is to provide a learning community for professionals committed to improving healthcare through education.
 

 

PIPE’s Mission: To be a professional resource that contributes to excellence in pediatric healthcare education.

PIPE’s Vision: To be the preeminent source for pediatric healthcare educators, providing best practices with patient and family education through:

  • Networking and collaborating
  • Learning
  • Sharing ideas and resources
  • Advocating for health literacy, cultural and family centered care

PIPE's Values:

  • Professionals who care about excellence in pediatric healthcare education
  • Interested in communicating, networking and contributing for the common good of all of our members
  • Passionate about sharing our resources, knowledge and skills with one another
  • Excited about empowering our patients and families as they learn and grow their way towards improved health care management and outcomes.

PIPE’s future goals include:

  • Increase awareness of PIPE for future growth
  • Share pediatric health education resources, including illustrations and translations
  • Create tool for evaluation and measurement of programs and materials
  • Publish our cooperative efforts
  • Provide networking and educational opportunities for problem solving, information sharing, and mutual support
  • Diversify to include and support specialty focus areas such as neonatal, adolescent and family resource centers
  • Define best-practice and standards for outcome-based pediatric patient and family education.
