HCEA provides a learning community for professionals committed to improving healthcare through evidence based education, resource development and communications.
HCEA strives
to be the premier organization where health care educators from various disciplines collaborate in the development and use of evidence-based tools for client and staff education, resulting in competent practice and high quality health care for all.
HCEA Objectives:
Provide opportunities for the professional development of health care educators;
Provide relevant resources, reference tools and information on health care education products and
services;
Demonstrate the value of a comprehensive approach to health care education and training as an effective
management strategy for achieving institutional and individual goals;
Participate in and recommend action on national issues relative to health care education;
Encourage collaboration and networking among professionals and organizations involved
in health care education.
HCEA was my lifeline when I transitioned my professional focus from
bedside clinical care to patient-family education. Members are always willing to provide guidance and share their expertise. The annual conference always provides me with creative new ideas as well as solutions to
stubborn problems. It's a membership card that no healthcare educator should be without!
